07 September 2011

The Whitehall & Industry (WIG) are delighted to be working again with British Airways who are looking forward to interacting with peers across the sectors through WIG.

British Airways

British Airways (BA) is the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom which is based and headquartered in Waterside, near its main hub at London Heathrow Airport. British Airways is the largest airline in the UK based on fleet size, international flights and international destinations.

For over 90 years British Airways and its predecessor companies have been at the very forefront of air transport development. From the opening of the world’s first daily commercial passenger air service from Hounslow Heath to Paris in August 1919 by Air Transport & Travel, the glamour of Imperial Airways’ flying boats in the late 1930s hurrying on their way to destinations throughout Africa, the Far East and Australia, and the post-war achievements of BEA and BOAC to the 27 glorious years of supersonic commercial flying with Concorde, BA have been consistently in the forefront of progress and customer service, in the air as well on the ground.
