On 29 November 45 delegates attended a consultative workshop that WIG ran in conjunction with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).
The event enabled companies to learn about the FCO’s foreign policy focus on commercial issues as well as the opportunity to feed in their views on how the FCO, together with UKTI, can work best with British business to support it overseas.
Speakers included Simon Fraser, Permanent Under-Secretary of the FCO, Sir Andrew Cahn, Chief Executive of UKTI and Nick Baird, Director-General Europe and Globalisation, FCO.
After presentations, delegates took part in round table discussions facilitated by Foreign Office officials at which they were able to openly discuss and debate how the FCO, UKTI and business can work most effectively together.
