WIG Senior Leaders Programme

What is the WIG Senior Leaders Programme?

The WIG Senior Leaders Programme is an action learning programme which runs from June to March each year. The programme offers a

unique and stimulating cross-sector learning environment for senior leaders from private sector companies, central government, local authorities and voluntary organisations. Our experience shows that

leadership development in a cross-sector forum enriches the debate and provides a wider variety of perspectives and solutions than would be found in a single-sector programme.

Benefits of the programme

The WIG Senior Leaders Programme is a flexible cross-sector learning experience that delivers real benefits for both individuals and organisations. These include:

  • an enhanced understanding of, and lasting links with, other sectors, encompassing a wide range of professions and organisations
  • a practical impact on individual and organisational challenges, through exposure to broader perspectives and constructive challenge, within a supportive environment
  • enhanced leadership skills through working with, and learning from, a diverse and high calibre group of senior leaders
  • an opportunity to enhance in-house development programmes.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is for senior leaders who are running organisations or key divisions/functions within large organisations. To get the best out of the programme, all participants will need to be:

  • Open to sharing experiences and to listening to and learning from others
  • Keen to develop a more flexible leadership style
  • Willing to be challenged and to constructively challenge others
  • Looking ahead to future leadership roles or challenges that will require a step change in performance and personal impact
  • Committed to attending all seven modules.
