Workshop: Carbon Reduction Commitment - Understanding the Implications

The Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), announced in the Energy White Paper, will apply mandatory emissions trading in order to cut carbon emissions from large organisations.

This WIG workshop, primarily aimed at private sector organisations, enabled delegates to understand the practical implications of the CRC for them. Policy experts from Defra provided some of the findings from the consultation they ran from June to October 2007. Presentations included the background and policy aims of CRC as well as the market design of the CRC and how organisations obtain and trade allowances.

WIG is grateful to Mike Kelly, Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, KPMG for hosting and charing this interactive workshop.
