Cross Sector Mentoring

WIGs diverse membership base puts it in a strong position to help leaders share experience across sectors. Our mentoring programme helps to build supportive one-to-one relationships between leaders from different sectors and can provide new perspectives, practical insights and constructive challenge to support individuals in achieving key personal and business goals.

The WIG Mentoring Programme aims to be:

  • Practical in focus, supporting real achievements by the mentee
  • Cross-sector, to provide broader perspectives and insights
  • Flexible, to meet individual needs
  • Challenging, to promote change and improvement
  • Structured, with a clear focus on achieving practical objectives
  • Supportive, with ongoing support from WIG for both mentor and mentee

The key features of the WIG Mentoring Programme are:

  • Mentors who are experienced, practical business leaders
  • A structured ‘matching’ process, facilitated by WIG
  • specific and measurable objectives for the mentoring relationship, - agreed between mentor and mentee at the beginning of the process
  • Regular, structured mentoring meetings resulting in a specific - action plan.
  • Ongoing support from WIG for both the mentor and mentee
  • Ongoing review and evaluation of each mentoring partnership
  • Record-keeping which is user-friendly and kept to a minimum so that active mentoring time is maximised.
