Who we are

The Whitehall & Industry Group (WIG) is an independent charity and membership organisation.

Our role is to champion learning and understanding between the sectors.

We do this through a diverse calendar of events, leadership programmes for different career levels, and a talent function placing people across sectors in short-term roles.

Our membership of around 230 organisations is three-fold:

  • Private Sector – around 100 FTSE and professional services organisations;
  • Public Sector – a similar number of government departments, local authorities and agencies;
  • Not-for-Profit Sector – a smaller number of universities and charities.

The WIG Purpose

We are committed to individuals and organisations learning from one another and to people’s ability to find the answer together.

Read more about our charitable purpose.

WIG does a fantastic job for the nation, developing great leaders, developing great perspectives, working cross-sector between government, industry and the voluntary sector. It is a small organisation with a huge idea, working to counter the potential for disfunction in the UK by getting people to work together in a collaborative way.
