Six new members from all sectors join WIG

We are pleased to welcome six new organisations to the WIG family of members. They are a diverse group, from sectors including academia, transport, consulting, digital and the public sector. Our new members are: PA Consulting, The Open University, Government Actuary’s Department, Aston University, High Speed 2 (HS2) and Amazon Web Services. Read more about them below:

PA Consulting

Government Actuary’s Department

Actuaries have analytical skills that help decision-makers take account of risk and uncertainty. The Government Actuary’s Department's (GAD) mission is to support effective decision-making and robust reporting within government as the first choice provider of actuarial and specialist analysis, advice and assurance.

Aston University

Aston University received its Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth II in 1966. Now students from over 120 countries choose to study at this university. The Teaching Excellence Framework has given Aston University a Gold award – the highest possible accolade.

High Speed 2 (HS2)

HS2 is the new railway that will be the backbone of Britain’s transport network. By helping to bridge the north-south divide it will build a country that works together. The new railway will free up space on congested rail lines. The aim is to relieve overcrowding and improve reliability for millions of people using Britain’s railways.

Construction is starting on Phase One which will link London and Birmingham by 2026. Phase Two will run from the West Midlands to Manchester in the west and Leeds in the east completing the network by 2033.

Amazon Web Services

Amazon Web Services is a subsidiary of Amazon that provides on-demand cloud computing platforms to individuals, companies and governments, on a metered pay-as-you-go basis. Established in 2006, AWS Marketplace is a digital catalog with thousands of software listings from independent software vendors that make it easy to find, test, buy, and deploy software that runs on AWS.
