WIG welcomes new members
We are pleased to welcome Eversholt Rail, London City Airport, NHS Digital, Sheffield Hallam University and Maximus UK to the WIG membership and look forward to seeing them at our upcoming events.
Eversholt Rail was one of 3 Rolling Stock Companies (RoSCos) formed on privatisation of British Rail. It was owned by HSBC from 1997 – 2010 and Eversholt Investment Group, a consortium consisting of STAR Capital Partners, 3i Infrastructure plc and Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners from 2010 – 2015.
Eversholt Rail is now owned by UK Rails S.A.R.L., a company jointly owned by CK Infrastructure Holdings Limited and CK Hutchison Holdings Limited. Their aim is to provide value for money rolling stock asset management services to the UK market through maximising demand for our existing fleet, investing in cost effective refurbishments which improve the passenger experience and lower overall life cycle costs, selective new build investment and providing asset management services to new entrants to the market. The Eversholt Rail team, of around 100 people, is highly experienced, with a strong mix of commercial, technical and engineering skills and an in–depth knowledge of the UK rail industry.
London City Airport
London City Airport, located in East London in the historic Royal Docklands, has been transforming in the past 30 years from an airport that welcomed just 133,000 passengers in 1988 – its first full year of operation – to a record breaking year in 2016 with 4.5 million passengers. It is owned by a Consortium, made up of AIMCo, OMERS, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Wren House Infrastructure Management. It is one of the largest private sector employment sites in the London Borough of Newham, providing interesting and challenging career opportunities for the local community. Their experienced team provides a complete corporate aviation package, including flight planning, weather briefings and landing clearances, slot requests, ground handling, flight watch, cleaning, catering, line maintenance, refuelling, baggage and aircraft handling.
NHS Digital are the national information and technology partner to the health and social care system with a vision to harness the power of information and technology to improve health and care. Their goal is to improve care in England by making better use of technology, data and information. They have offices around England and employ 2,500 staff as IT specialists, programme and project managers, statisticians, analysts, and information security experts. They have committed to the Royal College of Nursing’s ‘Make Every Nurse an e-Nurse’ campaign and their ambition is to implement this by 2020.
Sheffield Hallam University
Established in 1843 as a smaller institution known as Sheffield School of Design, and being given authority to become a university in 1992, Sheffield Hallum is now one of the UK’s largest and most progressive universities. They are the 7th largest university in the UK with 31,484 students and 4,407 members of staff, as at 2015/16. 78 percent of their students achieve a 2:1 at graduation with 93 percent of their graduates being in employment within six months of graduation. Their vision is to be the world’s leading applied university, achieving outstanding outcomes for their students and city.
