CTOs Roundtable: The National Data Strategy
Please note, this is a private event, by invitation only, intended for CTOs and equivalent roles. The invitees are carefully selected in line with The Whitehall & Industry Group’s charitable purpose, representing organisations from a variety of sectors, to bring a range of views and perspectives. If you or a colleague would like to be considered for future roundtables in this series, then please feel free to email us on [email protected]
We are delighted to be joined by senior representatives from DCMS for this roundtable bringing leaders across sectors together, to discuss the potential impact of the UK National Data Strategy, and the opportunities it seeks to unlock.
The framework document, published in early September, focusses on 5 missions: unlocking the value of data across the economy, securing a pro-growth and trusted data regime, transforming government’s use of data to drive efficiency and improve public services, ensuring the security and resilience of the infrastructure on which data relies, and championing the international flow of data. In this session our participants will discuss:
- Whether, taken as a whole, the missions and pillars of the National Data Strategy focus on the right priorities.
- Examples of how data was or should have been used to deliver public benefits during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, beyond its use directly in health and social care.
- How the National Data Strategy can support the ‘levelling-up agenda’ and take account of regional inequalities across the UK.
