Darren is DG Policy and Programmes in the Global Trade and Investment (GTI) in the Department for International Trade (DIT). Darren joined DIT in January 2017 shortly after its creation as Director of Ministerial Strategy, before becoming DG Policy and Programmes in GTI in November. Darren joined the Civil Service in 2001 in the Department for Transport’s International Aviation Negotiations team. Darren’s senior experience has primarily been in the Justice System doing a range of policy, strategy and programme leadership roles across the criminal and civil justice systems. Darren is also a non-executive director of Axelos, a joint venture between government and Capita, to maximise the value of government generated IP on project management and IT Service management.
