Ed Humpherson, Director General for Regulation, UK Statistics Authority

This year marks 10 years since Parliament created the UK Statistics Authority to promote, improve and safeguard official statistics across the UK.

During this time, statistics have maintained and enhanced trust: enabling people to make decisions about the world: for businesses, on where and how to invest, and which markets to develop; for individuals, on where to live and where to send children to schools; and for communities, on how to improve the quality of local life.

There are however many challenges to maintaining public trust, with new data sources, new media and other tensions.

Join us to hear from Ed Humpherson, DG Regulation at the Office for statistics Regulation, to find out how these components come together, find out about the new Code of practice for statistics, plans to extend its reach and adoption beyond existing audiences and maintain the highest integrity of statistics for the next generation.
