GDS/MHCLG Local Digital Collaboration Summer Roadshow - London

Non-members are welcome to apply for places at these events. If you don't want to register for an account or have any trouble signing up you can also email us on [email protected] to register.

The Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), the Government Digital Service (GDS) would like to invite you to a roadshow of 'unconferences' around the UK to kick-start a new programme of work to help councils collaborate on common digital service transformation challenges.

Supported by Localgov DigitalWIGCIPFASolace, and Socitm the event will:

  • showcase emerging support plans from the new MHCLG local digital team
  • invite you to set the agenda and help us to identify the priorities for the new programme of work in MHCLG
  • explain GDS tools and services you can use to deliver better local services
  • share case studies and demos from projects around the country using data and digital service design to deliver better outcomes for citizens and better value for money

After some updates from MHCLG and GDS, attendees will be invited to propose topics they’d like to discuss with local service transformation peers by pitching a session in the morning. We’ll assign break-out rooms to the most popular discussion groups in ‘unconference style’. This means that you’ll set most of the agenda and talk about what matters most to you, from tools and techniques for procuring innovative suppliers, to making better use of GDS patterns and components, to brainstorming service-specific problems with peers.

The roadshow will come to 5 cities around the UK, so you can apply for a place at a venue and date that works best for you. Anyone working in local public service transformation can apply to attend. The majority of places will be reserved for local authorities. Please only apply to attend one event to allow as many people join as possible.

Unfortunately this event is now closed for booking.
