  • Scott Stevenson bio

    Scott Stevenson was appointed Deputy Director at the Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) in July 2017. He joined DExEU in August 2016, a few weeks after the department was created, initially to lead the department's migration team before adding the Citizens' Rights negotiations to his brief in 2017. He is part of the UK's core negotiating team on Citizens' Rights and had a key role in the agreements reached in December 2017 and March this year. 

     

    Before joining DExEU, Scott was Deputy Head of International Cooperation in the Department for Transport between April 2015 and July 2016. Between November 2012 and April 2015, Scott led the EU Projects team in the Home Office's International Directorate and was part of the negotiating team on the UK's 2014 Justice and Home Affairs opt-out that confirmed the UK's continued participation in the European Arrest Warrant. 

     

    Between January 2007 and November 2012, Scott worked in a number of immigration related roles in the Home Office. He started his career in the Home Office considering asylum claims, before leading a number of operational teams and businesses improvement projects in the UK Border Agency. 

     

    Scott has a degree in Law from the University of Glasgow. He was born in Dundee
