In the latest of our HR Directors Roundtable series, Esther Wallington, Chief People Officer at HM Revenue & Customs, will open the session, before an open conversation involving all.

    As Chief People Officer of HMRC, Esther leads the HR team for the UK’s tax and customs authority, a strategic partner and service provider to HMRC's business. We are dedicated to enabling leaders and managers to improve the experience for people across HMRC;  creating the capabilities we need to deliver our business; and enabling our people to deliver HMRC's vision for our customers. Esther has extensive HR professional leadership experience in both private and public sectors. In the private sector, Esther provided consultancy services focusing on executive search, organisational design and  leadership development. Esther joined the Civil Service in 2007 as a HR leader in the Cabinet Office, working on capability reviews. Before taking up her current position in December 2016, she was HR Director at Ministry of Defence, where she led the HR function for the department’s 58,000 civilian workforce. Esther is an outspoken champion of women in the workplace and of creating an environment in the workplace that helps everyone to thrive.
