Online Leadership Seminar: Maintaining High-Quality Connections when Leading Virtual Teams
Due to the popular demand of our online taster sessions, we have crafted a more immersive online leadership development experience for those who want to delve deeper. These seminars are 2.5 hours long and include a break. They provide you with the opportunity to learn practical tools and tips and to share your experiences with those from across the sectors.
As leaders, many of us have been catapulted into unchartered territory with the need to lead and manage teams remotely. Leadership can be demanding at the best of times and now there are additional aspects to consider.
One of the biggest challenges is maintaining a great team environment when you’re all in different locations and relying on technology to connect. How do you increase the probability of having successful conversations? How do you keep the team motivated and ensure that every team member feels included and engaged? How do you continue to get the work done effectively and efficiently?
This session will explore the power of High-Quality Connections and share techniques to help you lead and manage team conversations more effectively when working remotely.
What this session will cover:
- Why it’s particularly important to maintain High-Quality Connections (HQCs) within a virtual team
- How to create and develop HQCs when leading remotely
- Social connection as a process, not a one-shot deal
- Creating a team environment that engenders trust, engagement and gets stuff done!
- Leadership that conveys both respect and warmth
- Using playfulness to build stronger team connections
- Role modelling compassion & being curious about the basic need for social connection
- Looking after yourself so that you can be your ‘best self’ for your team
"This seminar was about creating connectivity in virtual teams and the value of this was demonstrated - the group quickly established rapport due to excellent facilitation and the outcome was that we shared ideas and learnt from one another. Thank you!"Krishna Anand Womble Bond Dickinson
