Sustainability Directors Roundtable: Setting science-based targets ahead of COP26

With the UK’s COP26 presidency on the horizon, we are delighted to bring together sustainability leaders across the sectors to discuss how their organisations can get involved in the crucial Race to Zero Campaign, and effectively utilise science-based targets to build momentum around the shift to a decarbonized economy. Bridget Jackson, the Business Engagement Lead at the United Nations High Level Climate Champions Team, will open the session, and be joined by her colleague Tom Dowdall, 1.5°C Campaign Lead at CDP, to share insights into SBT methodologies.

    Bridget Jackson is the Business Engagement Lead at the United Nations High Level Climate Champions Team, whose role is to engage non-state actors in climate action via the Race to Zero campaign, ahead of the COP26 Climate Summit taking place in Glasgow later this year. She has also been the Chief Sustainability Officer at PwC UK since 2010, overseeing a 60% reduction in scope 1, 2 and 3 absolute greenhouse gas emissions between 2007 to 2020, and architecting the global PwC Network Net Zero by 2030 commitment, launched last year. A strategist by background, she previously held multiple leadership positions in industry and in a global management consultancy. Bridget is a Fellow of the ICRS, a former commissioner of the London Sustainable Development Commission, and a member of BITC’s Climate Action Leaders Group and Net Zero Taskforce, where she shares insights and lessons freely to help accelerate the transition to a net zero economy.
