    Jenny’s early career was in the education sector implementing policy in schools to improve pupil outcomes and teaching practices. Jenny went on to qualify with the CIPD and established and led training departments and development services. She spent 5 years in the technology industry developing the use of data and systems to transform public sector services from technology infrastructure to use of data to develop patient services. However, her passion lay in people and transformation, understanding that having the right culture, behaviours and approach to leadership was key for successful delivery. She became qualified with a masters in change leadership and followed with up with project, programme and portfolio management accreditations. She spent the last 10 years working across local and central government, health and private sectors as a programme manager and business change consultant with a focus on smarter working and enabling a modern workforce to thrive. Most recently Jenny has been an instrumental figure in the work to support the government response to Covid- 19 she has led on developing a cross government community of practice in smarter working, wrote and developed a toolkit of resources to enable the effective move to remote working and a change approach to develop and transformation working life to drive the civil service as a great place to work.

    I am a career civil servant who joined the civil service straight from school and started out in Operational Delivery in the Ministry Of Justice.  I’ve worked in a range of Departments and at the centre in Civil Service Human Resources in the Cabinet Office.  I’ve primarily worked in corporate centre type roles with a focus on project delivery and/or HR.  I was very lucky to work in the Department for Exiting the EU for a few months before its closure as Co-Director of the Corporate Centre. Before joining DFT I was the People and Workplace Director at DCMS with accountability for HR, Estates and Security during the start and first year of the pandemic.
