A programme for talented mid-career women with potential for top leadership roles. The participants are either senior managers in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors; senior civil servants (deputy directors and directors): or local government assistant directors and directors.

    How will it work?

    The eight-month modular programme will supply the tools, the strategies, the mentors, the coaches and the long-term networks to support and challenge you on your way to the top.

    Action learning sets will bring you together with women from different professions, sectors and organisations.

    The learning sets are facilitated, not taught, providing the safe space for you to learn from the other delegates’ experiences and perspectives, to challenge assumptions and to examine your core abilities, strengths and values.

    The six modules are designed around themes particularly relevant to women.  They will give you tools or frameworks that can be put in to practice immediately in your workplace.

    You will hear from inspirational women leaders and visit others.

    You will explore practical leadership issues in a day with a charity, bringing your expertise to advise the organisation.

    You will receive individual support from a personal mentor from the private, public or not-for-profit sector. Two one-to-one coaching sessions will deepen and sustain the learning from the group sessions.

    During Module 5 participants have the opportunity to develop their skills in another sector by consulting and supporting a charity with a challenge they are grappling with. In 2020 the cohort worked with Children and Families without Borders (CFAB) on developing their corporate partnership approach.

  • Programme structure

    This programme takes a collaborative approach and the success relies as much on the attitude, engagement and commitment of participants as on the input or expertise of speakers and facilitators.

    The programme will run from December to July 2022. 

     

    December Cohort Dates: 

    Module 1: 13 and 14 December 2021. 

    Module 2: 1 February 2022. 

    Module 3: 17 March 2022. 

    Module 4: 10 May 2022. 

    Module 5: 20 June 2022. 

    Module 6: 4 July 2022. 

     

  • Facilitators

    Our facilitators and coaches combine a depth of understanding of leadership development with a practical, common sense approach gained from leadership across business, government and the voluntary sector.

     

     

    The programme is a powerful mix of action learning, practical tools, real leader speaker sessions, visits to leaders of choice and coaching. It is very lasting and meaningful way to learn about leadership. It whets my leadership appetite every time I work on the programme!

    Fee

    Member fee: £6,100+VAT.

    Non-member fee: £7,700+VAT.

    Charity Sector and WIG alumni fee: £4,650+VAT. 

    This fee includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and overnight accommodation for the residential module, lunch and refreshments for all WIG hosted modules, plus two one-to-one coaching sessions, two one-to-one mentoring sessions, membership of the Alumni Network, and all programme materials.
