Productivity Series: Addressing the Productivity Challenge – A practical workshop

In February, WIG, in partnership with the Warwick Manufacturing Group launched a series of events to examine the principal drivers for productivity in the UK. We heard first from the Treasury on the Government’s Productivity Plan and since then have succeeded in bringing together leaders from the public, private and third sectors to discuss areas including infrastructure, skills, leadership and investment.

As the UK prepares to compete in the world outside the EU, taking on the productivity challenge is more urgent than ever and will require cooperation and coordination across all sectors. Recent changes in Government, including the creation of the new Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, signal a renewed emphasis on Government and Business working together more closely to achieve growth.

On Thursday 8th September we will conclude the series with a high-level workshop, hosted at the Warwick Manufacturing Group Centre in Coventry. Representatives from organisations which have presented in the series have all been invited to participate in the workshop and the focus will be to examine the high-level messages and draw conclusions, including on the implications of productivity in a Brexit world.

The event which is free to WIG members will be held from 10:00 – 14:00 and will include a light lunch. There will be an optional site visit of the WMG facilities from 14:00.

Places are limited, so please apply early to secure your place
