Developing leaders with insight and experience across the sectors is at the heart of WIG’s purpose. We believe that enabling collaboration between business, government and the not-for-profit sector empowers innovation. With that in mind, our cross-sector development programmes are designed to build flexibility and resilience to successfully lead during uncertain times. 

The WIG Leadership Framework:

This year we will have a new ‘Leadership Development Framework’, designed in collaboration with a range of WIG member organisations. The power of our L&D activities comes from our ethos of mutual understanding and learning across the sectors. We believe that sustainable leadership development is underpinned by a framework that includes Values, Mindset and Behaviours. Therefore, we have designed our new framework and activities to support delegates personal mindsets and promote effective leadership behaviours relevant to your organisation. We are just making final updates based on feedback from WIG members.

How our Leadership Programmes are delivered:

Our leadership programmes are underpinned by our unique framework of Values, Mindset and Behaviours. Values are the fundamental operating system which supports the personal mindset and promotes effective leadership behaviours.

The power of our L&D activities comes from our ethos of mutual understanding and learning across
the sectors. We believe that sustainable leadership development has three key components:

  1. Learning with others from different sectors to encourage mutual understanding, common purpose and innovation.
  2. Deep experiential learning which encourages participants to reflect on their sense of self and leadership of others.
  3. Developing personal 'skills toolkits' and powerful support networks that encourage sustainable and ongoing learning and personal growth.
