We are delighted to welcome Ollie Ilott, Interim Director General for Artificial Intelligence at DSIT for this special briefing in which we will explore progress made against the AI Opportunities Action Plan.

Speaker
Oliver Ilott is the Interim Director General for Artificial Intelligence at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). He was appointed in August 2025.
Ollie is a founding Director of the AI Security Institute and previously was Deputy Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, leading the domestic affairs team in No10 Private Office.
He led on the Cabinet Office COVID Taskforce’s strategy team and worked on Brexit in the Civil Service from 2017 to 2020. Before this he was a researcher at the Institute for Government.
