In this roundtable discussion, Diversity & Inclusion professionals from across the sectors will come together to discuss approaches to social mobility, sharing key learnings and challenges from identifying and setting targets to tracking progress and the impact of the pandemic on social mobility. Senda Kavindele, Interim Director, Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity at KPMG, will open the session, before an open conversation involving all.

Speakers at the event

Senda Kavindele is a Director in the People Function at KPMG. Her primary role is Interim Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity and she concurrently leads on the execution and delivery of the Black Lives Action Plan (BLAP). She is chair of the Black Heritage Working Group and co-Chair of the African & Caribbean Network. Senda has 16 years’ experience working across various client-facing and people management roles in KPMG. Her background is in Corporate Intelligence, Forensic where she provided broad consulting and investigative “on-the-ground” advisory work for a range of Western corporates operating in Africa. She subsequently led the East Africa desk where she was responsible for operationalising the High Growth Markets Africa Practice strategy in the region. Formerly a Performance Leader in Tax & Legal and Forensic, Senda was responsible for leading commercial operations and embedding people processes to support best practice. Senda is passionate about embedding organisational inclusion and delivering equitable outcomes for all. She is recognised as a pioneer of the firm’s Allyship Programme focussed on driving equity and fairness in Black inclusion across the organisation. More recently, she is responsible for developing the Cross Company Allyship Programme centred on mentoring, coaching and sponsorship of Ethnic minority colleagues in the work place. She is a founding member of the award winning Black Heritage Reverse Mentoring Programme and the Black Heritage Talent Programme. Her relentless passion for driving the firm’s Inclusion and Diversity agenda led to her appointment as Interim Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity and Programme Lead for the BLAP.
