Mentoring Success: Developing Your Mindset and Toolkit is an experiential learning session sharing best practices for developing successful mentoring relationships. This three-hour session will give a 360-degree view of a mentoring relationship where we examine the opportunities and potential pitfalls of each role and provide key insights on how to set mentorships up for success based on the Whitehall & Industry Group’s decades of experience coordinating mentoring partnerships.

In this session participants will:

  • Learn about the full lifecycle of a mentoring relationship
  • Develop a deeper understanding of the perspectives of both the mentor and mentee and the challenges and opportunities in each role
  • Gain the confidence and skills to get the most out of a mentoring relationship

Cathy is Head of Leadership at The Whitehall & Industry Group, designing and delivering collaborative cross sector leadership programmes for all stages of the leadership life-cycle. She is a leadership and talent specialist and highly regarded coach, programme, and client director.  With over 25 years’ global programme and project experience, Cathy works with executives, their teams and organisations to navigate ambiguity, thrive on innovation and collaboration to achieve fulfilment and impact for their organisations and society as a whole.  

Cathy spent over 16 years working in different global leadership development roles at the University of Cambridge, at the Business School and the Møller Institute, Churchill College. Before that she worked in a variety of business development roles in organisations spanning the private, not-for-profit and public sectors.

Cathy holds an MA, an MBA and has completed an Advanced Diploma in Transformational Coaching for EMCC accreditation.  She is a trained teacher and is also certified to deliver several leadership psychometric tools.

Katy manages our Talent function, designed to maximise cross-sector learning through operational exposure and one-to-one coaching. Within this she helps co-ordinate and run the Charity Next programme, arrange and facilitate both secondments and mentoring opportunities between sectors. She also directly recruits as part of NED and Trustee recruitment.

 

Before joining WIG, Katy worked as a Director for Badenoch & Clark, a specialist professional services recruitment company, personally specialising in senior level recruitment to Social Housing, Not-For-Profit and Local Government, as well as sitting on their operational board.

 

She sits on a customer committee for a Housing Association, and as a Trustee for a Grant Giving Charity. And in her spare time, when not looking after her three children, she enjoys swimming, running and skiing.

Cezanne supports Non-Executive recruitment campaigns for WIG. They support our members and non-members to streamline their recruitment campaigns to ensure that the right candidate is matched to their specified requirements.

As part of their role at WIG, Cezanne oversees the Bespoke Mentoring Programme, collaborating with esteemed industry leaders and policymakers to identify and address their specific professional development requirements. Additionally, Cezanne facilitates cross-sector secondment initiatives for individuals and organisations seeking to broaden their experience.

They also sit on WIG's EDI committee to promote a culture of inclusivity and equity for all employees. Prior to WIG, Cezanne worked in the private sector advising individuals on employment opportunities. They also have a background in sales and customer service.

Cezanne graduated from The University of East Anglia with a BA Hons in American History in 2018 and an MA in Gender Studies in 2019. Cezanne has a specific interest in the intersections of race, gender, and disability.
