Emma is the the Director of Resources & Waste at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Prior to this, Emma has worked across various posts within DEFRA such as: Director of Northern Ireland; Director of Constitution & Borders, Director for EU Exit, Domestic and Constitutional Affairs as well as being Deputy Director for the EU Exit Overview.
Emma's most impressive achievement to date was delivering a deal with the EU that secures food supply for Northern Ireland (the Windsor Framework) when many thought it impossible and leading a negotiations team they felt supported and rewarded in their achievements.
Emma's career goals are to lead teams that are proud of what they achieve and how they achieve it; and to keep learning and surprising themselves by their achievements.
Claire is Director of Insights & Innovation at WRAP, in which role she is responsible for WRAP’s policy and insights work, technical support for local authorities and grant management across the UK. The teams support Defra in its implementation of the Resources & Waste Strategy and similar support programmes for the devolved governments in Wales and Northern Ireland. Claire joined WRAP in 2008 and was previously a consultant with AEA Technology.
After 12 years at KPMG, I joined Associated British Foods in 2002. I held a number of finance roles (including Finance Director of Jordans Dorset & Ryvita and The Silver Spoon Company, UK subsidiaries of ABF) before moving into my current role as part of ABF’s Brexit preparations in 2016.
I represent ABF on various industry and government bodies and working groups including the Food Data Transparency Partnership and the EPR Sprints. I also support George Weston (the group CEO) in his role on the Council for Sustainable Business.
